Examination Pattern

SSC invites the applications for the post of Stenographer Group C & D every Year, the following recruitment consist 3 major part 1st is written Exam which consists three parts 2nd is typing Test or Shorthand Speed test and the 3rd is personal interview, Final Selection will be made by the candidates performance in all three parts. The written paper pattern is as follows
Part- 1
  • General Intelligence & Reasoning ( 50 questions )
  • Maximum Marks: 50
  • Total Duration Timing for General candidates : 2 Hours "10.00 A.M. to 12.00 Noon"
  • Total Duration/ Timing for Visually Handicapped candidates : 2 Hours 20 mins "10.00 A.M. to 12.20 PM"
Part - 2
  • General Awareness ( 50 questions )
  • Maximum Marks: 50
  • Total Duration Timing for General candidates : 2 Hours "10.00 A.M. to 12.00 Noon"
  • Total Duration/ Timing for Visually Handicapped candidates : 2 Hours 20 mins "10.00 A.M. to 12.20 PM"
Part - 3
  • English Language & Comprehension ( 100 questions )
  • Maximum Marks: 100
  • Total Duration Timing for General candidates : 2 Hours "10.00 A.M. to 12.00 Noon"
  • Total Duration/ Timing for Visually Handicapped candidates : 2 Hours 20 mins "10.00 A.M. to 12.20 PM"
Important Note:
  • The Paper will consist of Objective Type- Multiple choice questions only. The questions except in Part III will be set both in English & Hindi. 
  • Candidates are not permitted to use Mobile Phone, Calculators or any other electronic / electrical device for answering any paper (Test Booklets). Candidates must not, therefore, bring Mobile Phone, Calculators or any other electronic / electrical device inside the Examination premises. Possession of these items , whether in use or not, will be considered as “use of unfair means” in the Examination and appropriate action will be taken by the Commission against such candidates, as per extant policy of the Commission. 
  • There will be negative marking of 1/4 marks for each wrong answer. Candidates are, therefore, advised to keep this in mind while answering the questions.
