• Junior Engineer (Trainee) (E&M) Cadre : Candidate must have Knowledge of Hindi language  in Devnagari Script. In case candidate has not passed High School or equivalent examination in Hindi, he/she has to clear the an examination conducted by the Registrar. Departmental Examinations Govt. of UP. within 3 years of joining. Or Candidate must hold a Diploma in Electrical/ Mechanical/ Electronics/ Control and Instrumentation/ Instrumentation Engineering from a recognized Institute or National Certificate in Electrical/ Mechanical Electronics/Control and Instrumentation/ Instrumentation Engineering a awarded by the 'All India Council for Technical Education.
• Junior Engineer (Trainee) (Civil Cadre) : Candidate must have Knowledge of Hindi language  in Devnagari Script.
